Dubai - Day One

You can't make it up...our kids are healthy as horses for MONTHS and then on the eve of leaving for Spring Break to Dubai - David wakes up in the middle of the night HURLING!  Oh, Joy!  The last time we went on a big trip was when we went to Singapore & Thailand and ironically he was HURLING then too!!  What's up with that!?  This time he was literally so sick that we had to pull over on the way to the airport so he could do an emergency "nature squat."  Memories...Like the Corner of My Mind...

Thankfully, other than the occasional bathroom pitstop - We did not have anymore vomitting issues and we did not have to leave any underwear behind (like the last trip!)

Yep!  Puke Bag in the "ready" position!  Just to be safe!

A little electronics tutorial from the Big Sis.

Woo-Hoo!  Welcome to Dubai!

Taxi-Cab Antics

All checked in at The Palm
We stayed on the outermost ring of The Palm.  We were able to watch a documentary on television before going to Dubai about how this man made island was built.  Fascinating!  What a feat!  I still wonder if man will be able to continue to daily "fight the sea" and if at some point this amazing structure will be washed away with the current?!
View from our room

Parked right outside our room.
These would be the first of MANY ridiculously expensive things we saw in Dubai.  So, speaking of expensive...our first stop....The Mall!

Doesn't matter what language it's written in - We LOVE our Dunkin' Donuts :0)

The smile says it all :0)

The rest of the crew chose Subway and Rachel ate her
WHOLE foot long!

Just one of my MANY nicknames...Jennyfer!

CANDY!!!

I'd never seen so many spices in my life.  The sheer quantity was shocking!

"Olive Juice"
(I love you)...did you ever do that trick as a kid?  Anyhooo!  Look at all those olives!  Matt was in Heaven!

Made my Midwestern heart soar....CHEESE!!!

A Nut Allergen Nightmare!

After we had completely packed our shopping cart full of all kinds of yummy food - We headed back to the hotel.  We got the kids all nestled into their beds and then us Old Folks went out to enjoy the view from our porch.  We have a big day planned tomorrow at Atlantis!

Cheeeeers & Goooood Night!
